Swedish Medical Center was founded in 1905 as the Swedish National Sanatorium for the treatment of tuberculosis. Today, the 368-bed facility is nationally recognized for its Level II Trauma Center with Pediatric Commitment and is the regional referral center for neurotrauma.
Swedish's Centers of Excellence include Trauma Services, Neurosciences, Cardiology Services, Cancer Treatment Services, Advanced Radiology Capabilities and Women's and Children's Services. Swedish is adjacent to Craig Hospital, a nationally-renowned rehabilitation facility, and the Colorado Neurological Institute, one of the largest providers of interdisciplinary neurological services in the Rocky Mountain Region, is located on Swedish's campus. In addition to providing general oncology services, Swedish offers expertise in neurological oncology and stereotactic breast biopsy.
